Your safe deposit box is located in a high-security vault that meets the strict requirements of security category 4+. This is the highest security category in Belgium. This means that, among other things, the safe is excellently protected against fire and theft and is monitored 24/7.

Then call 02 486 70 00 to see if there are possibilities for an appointment within 24 hours. During your appointment, you will receive a tour of the branch in CitySafes Brussels. You can immediately rent a safe and make use of it. Therefore, please bring your valuables with you right away so you do not have to come back again for this.
The contents of your safe deposit box are insured up to €45,000 as standard from a type A safe. If you wish, you can increase your cover to €90,000 for an additional €52 per year. For an additional €130 per year, you can increase your cover to €150,000. The cover applies per safe deposit box. It is therefore also possible to rent several safe deposit boxes for higher cover. You then spread your valuables over several safes.
You must be in possession of a valid European ID and an IBAN. At CitySafes, the following documents are valid as proof of identity:
Yes, you can appoint your partner or a family member as co-tenant. Your co-tenant will have access to the safe-deposit box just like you, even if you are not there. Main tenant and co-tenant are equals on the contract. Adding a co-tenant can only be done in person at the office itself. You must both be present with valid proof of identity to do so.
Yes, you can. To do this, you need to bring a certified extract from the Chamber of Commerce to your appointment. This extract may not be older than 3 months. This extract must show your name.
We also ask you to fill in an End Interested Party Declaration and bring it along to the appointment if you want to rent the safe-deposit box for business purposes. You can also fill it out at the branch during the tour. And you should also bring your company’s VAT number and IBAN to the appointment.

You pay a one-off deposit of € 85 per safe deposit box for the keys and lock. If you return all keys at the end of the rental agreement and there are no outstanding payments, the deposit will be refunded to you within a month.
You can visit your safe deposit box free of charge and without restriction on fixed safe deposit box days. Would you like to visit your safe deposit box outside the regular safe deposit box days? This is possible by appointment. CitySafes will charge € 35,- including 21% VAT for administration costs.
Should you lose one or both keys, you will also be charged for this. The cost for one lost key is €300,- excluding VAT and €600,- excluding VAT for two lost keys.
You remain the legal and economic owner of your property at all times. It does not matter whether you keep your properties in our depot, or in your own safe deposit box. Unlike in most banks, your properties are not part of the estate in case of bankruptcy.
